Science in Print

Following various threads outward from the book review section of American Scientist Online, we find that the library has a reasonably broad selection of current books. Some examples:
Matt Ridley's new biography, Francis Crick: Discoverer of the genetic code;
Roger Penrose's The road to reality : a complete guide to the laws of the universe;
Aglow in the dark : the revolutionary science of biofluorescence / Vincent Pieribone and David F. Gruber;
The dance of molecules : how nanotechnology is changing our lives / Ted Sargent;
The omnivore's dilemma : a natural history of four meals / Michael Pollan;
The grail bird : hot on the trail of the Ivory-billed woodpecker / Tim Gallagher;
The worst hard time : the untold story of those who survived the great American dust bowl / Timothy Egan;
Condor : to the brink and back-- the life and times of one giant bird / John Nielsen.

If the subtitles don't give you a sufficient clue about the content of the book, click on the catalog links above and then on the cover image or the Summaries, Reviews, Etc. button for an array of possible further information: excerpts, tables of contents, summaries, author notes, reviews, and so on. Oh, and sometimes larger cover images. :-) Please remember to suggest, either online or when you are in the library, other titles you learn about that we haven't ordered yet. We count on you to help us broaden the reach of the collection with your suggestions.
