Answer: The 1063 children who have signed up for the Santa Fe Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, "Dream Big, Read!" It is not too late to sign up to read this summer and win prizes at your local library. Children can read books from home, school or the library. Caregivers can read to the children they care for. Record books on a special "Dream Big!" log and join the fun of reading.

All branch libraries host special crafts, entertainers and a wrap up party. Check with your local children’s librarian and get started reading.

What? Noise in the Library? Come join the fun with The Noise Guy! Enjoy funny laughing and making noise in the library. No “shushing allowed.”
Meet Charlie, the Noise Guy, who tells stories using realistic sound effects, funny stories, and zany humor. This free program is perfect for the whole family.

Stories, Sing a-longs, and Movement with Terry Alvarez!

Terry Alvarez will perform on June 27th and 28th as part of the library's "Dream Big, Read!" Summer Reading Program. Family Program: Flying Debris



An hour of comedy, stunts and lots of audience participation will be the fare at the Flying Debris show as a part of the 2012 Santa Fe Public Library’s Summer Reading Program’s Dream Big! special entertainment shows. Join with Flying Debris for fun and laughter.

Programs will be held on Friday, June 22 at 3:30 pm at the Southside Branch Library; Saturday, June 23 at 10:30 am at the Main Library and Saturday, June 23 at 1:30 pm at the La Farge Branch.

All programs are free and open to the public. All ages are welcome to attend.

Booksale June 30 and July 1

cover of bookPick up great summer reads on June 30th and July 1 at the Main Library, 145 Washington Avenue. Hundreds and hundreds of hardback and paperback books will be available for sale—fiction, non-fiction, biographies art books and the perennial favorite, cookbooks!

On Saturday, June 30th: the sale is open from 10am-4pm.

If you are interested in becoming a member, please visit the Friends of the Library website. Memberships will also be sold at the Sale.

Hardcovers for $1, Paperbacks $.50, or 3 for $1, and Children's books are 25 cents. There will also be many specially-priced books in the Southwest Room.

On Sunday, July 1st: the sale is open from 1pm-3:30pm to the public. Fill a bag for only $3.00 on Sunday from regular books in the Community Room.

All book sale funds are used to purchase new books for the Santa Fe Public Library.

Musician Frank Leto Entertains at the Libraries as Part of Summer Reading Program

Songs, percussion instruments and interacting with children make Frank Leto’s musical programs such a hit with children and parents alike. Join the libraries to experience Frank Leto’s programs as a part of the Summer Reading Program’s special entertainment. All ages are welcome to attend this free program.
Programs will be held at the Main Library on Friday, June 8 at 2:30 pm; La Farge Branch at 10:30 am on June 9 and at 1:30 pm at Southside Branch on June 9.

Studies have shown that music helps with the development of language and creates strong listening skills. Leto’s programs are entertaining and educational at the same time. Come and sing along.

Family Bedtime Stories this Wednesday evening at the Oliver La Farge Branch Library

Join us this Wednesday evening, June 6 at 6:30p.m. at the Oliver La Farge Branch Library for our newest program, Family Bedtime Stories. This month's theme is, 'Stories to Play With.'

Children’s Librarian, Walter Cook, will conduct story times, as well as facilitate hands-on activities for children and families. This is a great opportunity to make literature come alive for the whole family, as well as build memories and stimulate family conversations.
