Call for Artists at the Main Library


 The next Art submission meeting at the Main branch of the Santa Fe Public Library meets on Wednesday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m. Those interested in submitting an application for a 2014 show may download the application at: http://santafelibrary.org/pdfs/exhibitsappmn.pdf.


Artists wishing to exhibit their work at the Main Library, 145 Washington Avenue, may bring a completed Main Library Art Application and three representative pieces of work for review to the Library's Pick Room on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Paintings, as well as photographic exhibits, will be considered. The Main Library also has glass cases for displaying three dimensional works. For more information, please call the Main Library Reference Desk at (505) 955-6781.

Monthly Technology Tuesdays at the Southside Branch: Next Session is Tuesday, March 11.

Clueless about your new tablet? Need to fill out an online job application and don't know where to begin? Want to learn how to check out e-books from the library and need help getting started? The Southside Branch, 6599 Jaguar Drive, is here to help with all of these computer questions and more with Technology Tuesdays, a series of free monthly computer workshops starting this winter, and designed to help beginning computer users in need of a little basic technology support.

Workshops will be on the second Tuesday of each month through April at 10:00 a.m. in the Southside Library's Community Room. Next session is on Tuesday, March 11.

Each one hour workshop will begin with a 15-20 minute presentation on a specific computer or technology-related topic, followed by an open forum session to answer general computer questions and work through basic computer problems.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet, and any computer questions they may have.

Other topics to be presented over the course of the monthly sessions include computer safety and security, tips for job seekers, and checking out digital materials from Santa Fe Public Library. For more information, or to register please contact the Southside Reference Desk at (505) 955-2820.

Early Voting Begins Today!

Early Voting for the March 4, 2014 Regular Municipal Election Begins on: Wednesday, February 12, 2014 and closes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014

Santa Fe City Clerk, Yolanda Vigil announces that Early Voting will begin on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 and close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014.

Early Voting will be conducted in the Office of the City Clerk, 200 Lincoln Avenue, Room 215 during regular hours and days of business, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Validated parking for Early Voting will be available at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center’s underground parking garage. Voters are asked to present their parking ticket to the City Clerk’s office for validation.

Three (3) hooded metered parking spaces, on the west side of Lincoln Avenue, also are available for Early Voting.

Applications for mailed absentee ballots may be requested from the City Clerk’s office at the following phone numbers:

Applications for mailed absentee ballots must be completed and accepted by the City Clerk prior to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014. The City Clerk will accept completed absentee ballots delivered by mail or in person by the voter casting the absentee ballot, their caregiver, or by a member of the voter’s immediate family until 7:00 p.m. on March 4, 2014.
