The City of Santa Fe Arts Commission will open an exhibit of work by local
artists who submitted to the 2013 “Common Ground: Art Exhibit and Prize.”
Winners will be announced Friday, October 25th, at a reception from
5-7 p.m. in the City of Santa Fe Arts Commission Community Gallery, 201 W. Marcy
Street. The public is invited.
“Common
Ground” is a non-juried exhibit that provides an opportunity for local artists
to display their artwork and received recognition by the larger community. A
panel of judges consisting of Arts Commissioners, artists and community members
select three pieces to receive special recognition and honoraria. Best of Show
receives a $1,000 honorarium, 2nd $500 and 3rd $250. The
Best of Show will also be reproduced on a notecard.
The exhibit
will be on display through November 8th. Gallery hours are Tuesday
through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most
entries exhibited will be available for purchase.
