WWII Warbirds Visit Santa Fe

The Collings Foundation brought four WWII warbirds to Santa Fe, from April 10th through April 12th. These planes are rare (and impressive!) in that they are still in flying condition. A B-24J, a B-17G, a Messerschmitt ME 262 jet, and a P-51C Mustang were on display at the Santa Fe Municipal Airport.

All the planes are painted in original colors of the time.  One photo shows the cockpit of the B-17G.  Visiting them was like stepping into 1945 for a brief while.

This year, these planes are on tour, visiting 130 cities in America.  A good reminder of all that was at stake and what was accomplished by the Greatest Generation!
