The seventh annual La Tierra Torture Mountain Bike Race will be Saturday, May
4th at La Tierra Trails in Santa Fe’s northwest
quadrant.
The La Tierra
Torture Mountain Bike Race will be one day of great racing activity this year.
The race has something for everyone—with categories for all levels of racers
from beginners to professionals.
“The race
will have a beginners course, which is primarily double track, and truly doable
for all beginners. We would like to encourage anyone new to mountain biking to
come try it out,” stated Jan Bear, race director.
Registration
for the event is available online at www.newmexicosportsonline.com.
In the past
six years, La Tierra Torture has raised and donated more than $40,000 31,000 to local charities including the
Santa Fe Conservation Trust, Santa Fe Trails Alliance, Atalaya Search and
Rescue, the ForeKids Scholarship Fund, and the Bike Coalition of New
Mexico.
The La Tierra
Torture Mountain Bike race is the result of a collaborative effort between the
City of Santa Fe, local businesses and several nonprofit
organizations
