Searching the Government

There's an interesting article at llrx.com (itself an interesting site: "Legal and Technology Articles and Resources for Librarians...") about searching for government documents. The article, "Why Google Uncle Sam?" by Peggy Garvin, discusses various search strategies and concludes that FirstGov.gov is a better place to start than the other search engines that offer government document access, but not by a lot; and that, as always, "When searching the federal government niche, follow the same recommended practice as in general searching: use more than one search engine."
The site analogous to FirstGov.gov for New Mexico government information is FindIt New Mexico. We have collected some other useful government links on our Government Information page.
