Gracias is a new show
at Collected Works Bookstore for the month of July. Charlie and Debbie Carrillo
were victims of a terrible car accident in February. Charlie and Debbie were
unable to work, had tremendous hospital bills, and their car was totaled. To help
with the expenses, Collected Works Bookstore and LPD Press/Rio Grande Books
have sponsored a benefit with art and books of Charlie and Debbie. Gracias is a
“thank you” to the community for helping the Carrillos.
Retablos,, pottery,
and tiles will be on display at Collected Works and well as the last Charlie
Carrillo: Tradition & Soul book, Saints of the Pueblos, Shoes
for the Santo Niño, and many more books will be on sale. Proceeds from sale
of art and books will go to the Carrillos for medical expenses.
July 2, is the
opening of the art show until July 27, and a reception with the Carrillos will
be July 16, at 4pm at the Collected Works store.
