Big Adventure Comics Hosts Local Comics Creators for Sale and Presentations November 17


Big Adventure Comics in Santa Fe presents Local Comic Creators At Your Local Comic Shop on Saturday, November 17, 1:00-4:00. New Mexico-based comic writers and artists, and members of 7000 BC, the Northern New Mexico comic creators nonprofit, will have their creator-owned books for sale. At 2:00, cartoonist and educator Alec Longstreth will discuss his graphic novel Basewood, and at 2:30 writer and artist Turner Mark-Jacobs will present his process for creating his watercolor art.

As part the afternoon’s talks, Alec says, “I'll share story outlines, early character designs, and show examples of my cartooning process including pencils and inks,” and Turner says, “I’ll have sketches and finished art as well as tools to show how I work.” All participants in Local Comic Creators At Your Local Comic Shop will be have their work for sale and be available throughout the afternoon to discuss it.

Kevin Drennan, owner of Big Adventure comics, says “we're fortunate to have such a diverse range of comics-making talent locally and we're happy to be able to give them this opportunity to showcase their hard work."
