New York Public Library to archive its collection of restaurant menus

This makes me hungry just thinking about it: http://www.nydailynews.com/life-style/eats/new-york-library-archive-menu-1840-article-1.1249560. It's quite an undertaking, to say the least. This would be cool for Santa Fe as well, since it has a long history of fine foods and foodies that love them. Please comment if you know of any similar collection of resources in the area.
