Meep! Meep! Sounds to delight and amaze.

I love to find strange web sites. The ones that might have a legitimate use, but mostly ones that don’t. What fun to find the site FindSounds which features a myriad of sounds. Have a need for a drum rim shot? Applause? A roller coaster? The sound of a zebra or a marmot? FindSounds-Sound Types is the site for you. Maybe you can program a lion’s roar and a dog barking to keep burglars away. Or pretend to have a party with champagne corks popping and beer cans opening. Ohh, here is Roadrunner and ooh, I just found Scooby Doo’s laugh.

One big disappointment, no Rocky and Bullwinkle sounds.

A few years ago staff found a book with hundreds of bird calls—one battery brought the book back to life. It became the gauge of what a staff person’s attitude was when they came to work. If the staff person chose to play the call of a vulture instead of a sweet song bird, we could consider ourselves warned.

(With thanks to Phil Bradley’s who blogged about the site.)
