News commentators keep talking about the Mississippi flood of 1927, and referring to the 1998 book Rising tide : the great Mississippi flood of 1927 and how it changed America by John M. Barry. We do have the book, but at this point there's a whole flock of people lined up to read it, and it's long (won't turn over fast). We'll try to get another copy or two.
(We continue to add to our 'Katrina Disaster' links on the Internet Starting Points. Librarians around the country are working hard to collect information sources and make them easy to find.)
