La Farge Branch 40th Anniversary
Mayor Alan Webber will welcome guests and introduce City Councilors and other guests Saturday at the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Oliver La Farge Branch Library, 1730 Llano Street in Santa Fe. It is
scheduled for Saturday, March 17 from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Mayor Webber will speak at 1:30 pm.
The program will include music, refreshments and a special program for children.
Named for Pulitzer Prize winning author Oliver La Farge, the branch is a popular one in South-Central Santa Fe. Many photographs and press clippings plus memorabilia about Oliver La Farge will be on display.
John Pen La Farge, son of Oliver, will speak at the program and read from his father’s works.
The program will include music, refreshments and a special program for children.
Spring Book Sale
The Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library will hold a spring book sale on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 at the Main Library. Specially-priced books (Southwest Room) and discount books (Community Room) will be available.
