Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Veronica C. Garcia, announced the following:
“Because the Santa Fe Public Schools had a planned spring break beginning March 16th
-20th , we didn’t have any food on hand to feed our students this week. Due to the swift
action of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Secretary of Education Ryan Stewart and Major
General Kenneth A. Nava head of the National Guard we are pleased to announce that we
will be distributing breakfast and lunch “grab and go” bags tomorrow. Any child, age 18
and under, can receive a free meal during the following times:
● Breakfast: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM
● Lunch: 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM
Santa Fe Public Schools will distribute free meals to any child, age 18 and under, at
“drive-up” distribution points at the following locations:
● Aspen Community School
● Capital High School
● Chaparral Elementary School
● Kearney Elementary School
● Ramirez Thomas Elementary School
● Santa Fe High School
● Sweeney Elementary School
“As families arrive to these locations, they are to remain in their vehicle, and one meal will
be provided to each child. A child must be present to receive a meal.
“SFPS will continue to provide meals at these times and locations on weekdays throughout
spring break and continuing on through the state-mandated closure of schools.
“I am grateful that the Governor and her team supported our District’s students and I
commend Deputy Superintendent Kristy Wagner and her General Services team who
swiftly jumped into action all day Sunday to ensure that we would be ready to serve our
students on Monday morning.”
