As part of an ongoing city
effort to engage and include the public in the City’s budget-making this year,
Mayor Javier M. Gonzales and City Councilors have convened two public listening
sessions and conversations to answer questions, discuss proposed solutions, and
ensure public participation as the administration continues to tackle long-term
structural budget challenges.
The second of those meetings
(and final meeting for this year) will take place on Tuesday, December 15, at the Main Library, beginning at 6:00pm.
Public and members of the press
are welcome.
Announcing the meetings, Mayor
Gonzales said, “In any budget process, public engagement is important, but
especially as we face the challenges we face, and with the commitment we have
made to put the City back on sound financial footing, we need the whole
community to know what’s happening, have input, and participate in the
solution.”
