SFPL Director Pat Hodapp's 2016 Resolutions from the SF Reporter

Pat Hodapp
Director, Santa Fe Public Libraries

“Well, my hopes and dreams are always the same. I hope that Santa Fe has the best libraries that they deserve. Great cities deserve great libraries, and that is still my hope. I dream that this is going to happen, or continue to happen, in the next year, that way every child in Santa Fe has access to books and information.”

Tonight at the Main Library: Mayor, Councilors Host Community Listening Session on Budget

As part of an ongoing city effort to engage and include the public in the City’s budget-making this year, Mayor Javier M. Gonzales and City Councilors have convened two public listening sessions and conversations to answer questions, discuss proposed solutions, and ensure public participation as the administration continues to tackle long-term structural budget challenges.

The second of those meetings (and final meeting for this year) will take place on Tuesday, December 15, at the Main Library, beginning at 6:00pm.

Public and members of the press are welcome.

Announcing the meetings, Mayor Gonzales said, “In any budget process, public engagement is important, but especially as we face the challenges we face, and with the commitment we have made to put the City back on sound financial footing, we need the whole community to know what’s happening, have input, and participate in the solution.”

Main Library will be closed January 1-18, 2016

The Main Library, 145 Washington Avenue, will be closing for data rewiring from January 1 through January 18, 2016.  During this time the Main Library will not be accessible to the public.  The Main Library Book-drops will be open and patrons may return materials during that time. Reference and Circulation service desk phones will not be available during the closure, January 2-January 18.

If you are a Library patron and have holds or Inter-Library Loan books ready for pickup at Main during the closure, library staff will contact you and give you the option of picking up your materials at the La Farge or Southside Libraries.

Children's programs have been rescheduled or moved to other branches for the two week closure. Please check the Library Website for changes.

The data line rewiring will provide improved connectivity for the Main Library to wired and wireless networks.  This will also allow the Library to increase the number of public workstations in the future.   The Main Library will reopen for regular hours on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at 10:00 am.

Please visit the La Farge Branch at 1730 Llano Street (955-4862), or the Southside Branch at 6599 Jaguar Drive (955-2810). Both will be open regular hours.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We are looking forward to providing improved computer access for our patrons.  If you have questions, please contact the Main Reference desk at 505-955-6781 or check the Library Web site at www.santafelibrary.org.
