SpaceWeather

Spaceweather.com says that the Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) kicked out by sunspot 798 might make auroras so spectacular they reach as far south as we are. "If this incoming CME does hit Earth's magnetic field as hard as forecasters expect, auroras could appear in places where they are seldom seen: California, Arizona, Texas and elsewhere. Stay tuned for updates." Mmmmm, last time I looked at the globe, we are between Arizona and Texas, so stay alert if you're into skywatching.
