Valles Caldera

Wednesday's Journal North informed us via big black headline that "Valles Caldera May Blow Again", though the article itself doesn't say that. The pertinent quote: '"The caldera tends to erupt about once every 100,000 years," said geologist and retired Los Alamos scientist Fraser Goff. "So on that kind of basis we probably won't expect another eruption for another 50,000 years or so," he said.'
       There's a lot of good information on the web about the Valles Caldera, and since the establishment of the Valles Caldera National Preserve, great swathes of that beautiful country are being made accessible for hikers.
