City Offices, Most Services Closed Monday to Observe Memorial Day


The City of Santa Fe sends our thanks to the veterans and their families who have served our country, and wishes everyone in our community a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.  

All City of Santa Fe offices, Municipal Court, Libraries, and Recreation Centers will be closed on Monday to observe Memorial Day. Santa Fe Trails buses and the Santa Fe Ride and Santa Fe Pickup programs will not run. All offices and services will resume normal schedules on Tuesday.

Environmental Services Division does not stop work on holidays, so we will be collecting trash and recycling on our normal Monday schedule. Please have your containers out by 8:00am if your pickup day is Monday.

Postponed: Public computer outage, 10:00 a.m. until noon, Tuesday, May 22

Update: the previously announced computer outage at Main has been postponed until next week. The public computers at the Main Library will be down from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 22nd for an upgrade. The public wi-fi will not be affected and patrons can access the Internet with their personal devices during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Welcome Chess Enthusiasts! Santa Fe Public Library presents: “How to Beat Magnus Carlsen”, May 29 at La Farge


Jim Johnston of the Santa Fe Rooks will present a class on chess strategy entitled “How to beat Magnus Carlsen, World Chess Champion" on Tuesday, May 29 at the La Farge Branch Library (1730 Llano St.).
Jim will lead the class through solving a tactical puzzle as a warm-up activity and then examine in depth a recent game between two of the best players in the world.

When:  Tuesday, May 29th   from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

Where:   La Farge Community Room (1730 Llano St.)

Libraries Rock, Summer Reading Starts May 21!

Shabdpren and Amarpreet are two young readers, always anxious to find a great new read and helping the library get dressed up for “Libraries Rock,” our 2018 Summer Reading theme.  It’s going to be a ROCKIN’ summer!

Fiesta Para Bebés is this Saturday!

Santa Fe Public Library will be among the many great participants at the fourth annual Fiesta Para Bebés! We will be handing out free books and our own Dahlia from Books and Babies will be performing at 1:00 p.m.

Santa Fe Bandstand 2018 Lineup Announced!



Great American Read Book Report Contest at the Main Library and La Farge



Check out one of the many selections on display at the Main Library and La Farge for the Great American Read, read it, and fill out your book report.

Then come back for more books and to turn in your report to the Reference Desk.

The best four reports, judged by eloquence, humor, and comprehension, will win an awesome prize!

Winners will be notified by late June to pick up their prizes.

The Main Library is gearing up for Summer Reading Program which begins May 23rd and Atalaya School is just as excited as we are!  We thank them for their incredible display.  If your youth organization would like to create a display to promote SFPL Summer Reading Programs, please contact the children’s desk at 955-6837.
