Fizz, Boom, Read!
Staff will be green this Friday to celebrate Summer Reading Programs and the Cody Langstrom Magic Show . . . or rather, THEY WILL BE WEARING GREEN T-SHIRTS! (Close enough ) Come out for the program!
Library Art Happenings
This month's Southside branch featured artist, (Nova) Cynthia Barker, will give a talk about her exhibit, Aphrodite’s Gardens of Delight, this Friday, June 27th at 3 p.m. in the Southside Cafe Meeting Room. All are welcome!
In other Southside art news, there is a call for art at the Southside Branch and the Main Library as well!
Artists wishing to exhibit their work at the Southside Branch, 6599 Jaguar Drive, should fill out a Southside Branch Art Application. The Southside Branch Art Committee will set a date to review and schedule art displays. For more information, please call John Pinkston at (505) 955-2824, or Molly Masse at (505) 955-2823.

Artists wishing to exhibit their work at the Main Library, 145 Washington Avenue, may bring a completed Main Library Art Application and three representative pieces of work for review to the Library's Pick Room on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Paintings, as well as photographic exhibits, will be considered. The Main Library also has glass cases for displaying three dimensional works. For more information, please call the Main Library Reference Desk at (505) 955-6781.

Main Media is on the Move!
The Library has begun to move the Main Library media
collection to the first floor to open stacks. Patrons are now able to
browse DVDs , both fiction and non- fiction along with the children's DVD
collection. In addition, books on MP3, biographies on CD and the Great
Courses collection are also available to browse and check out. Patrons can look
for books on CD to be moved shortly. The entire media collection will be
relocated over the next few months. Items that have not been relocated can have
holds placed on them.

The Albuquerque Astronomical Society is Coming to SFPL!
The Albuquerque Astronomical Society will be coming to each branch of the library in June to set up a solar educational outreach table and telescopes in front of each Library in conjunction with our Summer Reading Program: Fizz, Boom, Read!
Kids will receive Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project Solar Glasses AND UV bead bracelets as a result of a NM Library STEM grant.

Books and Babies on Break During Second Half of June
Get your Books and Babies fill for the month these first two weeks of June because Dahlia will be taking a break the last half of the month. There will be no Books and Babies for the weeks of June 17-19 and June 24-26. The program will resume July 1-3.
