Mayor David Coss has invited the whole community to read Barbara Ehrenreich's
Nickel and dimed : on (not) getting by in America this winter (January—March 2007) for
Read on Santa Fe! Santa Fe's First Annual Community Read. The mayor says "
Nickel and Dimed is about changing the way America perceives its working poor. Santa Fe is proud of its accomplishments to support working families. This community read is a great way for Santa Feans to continue the discussion of how to deal with the very serious issue of poverty in our community."
The City will host a series of related community events in March 2007 including discussions and films. Come by the library to pick up a copy of the bookmark (right) with some suggested additional reading.
