Santa Fe Residents can pick up recycling containers Monday through Friday at 1142 Siler Road, Building A.  Recycling bins are often made available at certain community events like Santa Fe Bandstand and others.

Mayor Javier M. Gonzales said, “As we continue to lead Santa Fe toward greater sustainability, we’ve got to continually push the envelope a little further when it comes to reducing our impact. Even as we explore new and exciting technologies in sustainability – some of the basics never change, and recycling is one of those basics. One of our biggest impacts can come by reusing materials, reducing what we throw away and recycling what we can.”

Pics from the Charlies Bates Solar Astronomy Project at La Farge

WOW! COOL! OH, LOOK! Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project drew great sounds of exclamation from kids of all ages! La Farge Library users observed the sun through three different wave lengths using solar viewing glasses, and white hydrogen-alpha and calcium-k filtered telescopes.
As we enter into the hot days of summer, it’s the only time you will hear someone looking towards the sun and saying, “Oh, cool!”
